These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of HappyParent HQ ("the Service"), operated by HappyParent HQ ("we", "our", "us"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Service Description

HappyParent HQ is a service that helps parents manage school communications. With your permission, we connect to your email account to identify school-related messages and deliver a prioritized daily digest of action items.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and a parent or legal guardian to use this Service. The Service is designed for parents and guardians, not for children.

3. Your Account

• You sign in using your Google account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account.
• You must provide accurate information when creating your account.
• You are responsible for all activity under your account.

4. Gmail Access

• The Service requires read-only access to your Gmail to function. You grant this access through Google's OAuth consent flow.
• You can revoke this access at any time through your Google Account permissions or your HappyParent HQ account settings.
• We access your email solely to identify and extract school-related communications. See our Privacy Policy for details on how we handle your data.

5. Email Forwarding

If you use the email forwarding feature (forwarding to digest@happyparenthq.com), you are responsible for only forwarding emails you have the right to share. Do not forward emails containing sensitive information unrelated to school communications.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
• Attempt to access other users' accounts or data.
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service.
• Use the Service to process emails for commercial or non-parental purposes.

7. AI Processing

The Service uses artificial intelligence to extract action items from your emails. While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated summaries may occasionally miss items or misinterpret content. The Service is an aid, not a replacement for reading important school communications directly. We are not liable for missed or misinterpreted action items.

8. Service Availability

We aim to provide reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time with reasonable notice. During our beta period, features may change frequently.

9. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by HappyParent HQ. Your email content remains yours — we claim no ownership over your data.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, HappyParent HQ shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may terminate or suspend your access if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, we will delete your data within 30 days.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or through the application. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
